England

This fall we went to England to visit with our friends at WDP, the manufacturer of the Angel paintball marker. Located in Birmingham, in the English Midlands, the WDP factory is the top-notch facility where the Angel is manufactured and from which it is distributed. Thankfully, we had time to visit with the staff and would like to specially thank Owen for an awesome time.

Birmingham is a sprawling industrial English city, second in size only to London. Here, HP Sauce and the Jaguar automobile are made. So is the Angel, which in our opinion, is Birmingham's claim to fame. Even though the city lacks the far reaching history of other English towns, the restaurants and night life here are incredible. The sheer number of people on the street and the awesome night clubs make Birmingham worth the visit. (Left): Trevor and Ian heading out for a pint.

No trip to England would be complete without a visit to WDP's outdoor paintball facility. Forget Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London, the main attraction in England is found twenty minutes outside the city, in Birmingham's countryside. Talk about being spoiled - B'ham's paintball players live next to the best paintball field we've ever seen and it is only a twenty minute drive away! (Right): Trevor and Owen stand at the entrance to the Temple complex, replete with easter island effigies, a multi-roomed pyramid filled with rats, snakes and spyders, and a bone filled sarcophagus! Awesome, absolutely awesome!

It was a cold day when we visited the field and the last day before the field closed until the New Year. Our neighbours across the pond are fortunate enough to be able to play all year round, because unlike Canada, England does not suffer from the bone chilling cold and deep snows of our Canadian winters. The quality control process at WDP is top-notch. Their high-tech facility is filled with all the necessary instruments to make sure that the Angels that leave the factory are tuned and ready to kick ass. Rest assured that every Angel that leaves the factory has undergone a rigorous battery of tests and has received personal attention through every step of the manufacturing process. When you buy an Angel, you buy the best.
